Greetings Chiefs!

Yesterday was a great day in the space in terms of volume and the quality of mints with Magic Eden clocking a volume of more than 90,000 Sol in the last 24 hours. A lot of people made some great profits with the mint of Dead Rejects and Sol Decoder mint went as smooth as was expected.

Bidding adieu to yesterday, it is time to what the space has in the basket for today. And if I say that it is the day of games in the Solana NFT Marketplace it won’t be wrong. Because today there will be mints of 2 gaming projects. However, we won’t talk about them right now because I have something more special, a project with NFTs being hand-drawn by renowned artist and director Aleksa Gajic who is known for his work for Scourge of the Gods and Marvel Comics.

Let’s talk about Miners of Mars:

Miners of Mars is a collection of algorithmically generated characters hand-drawn on paper by Aleksa Gajić.

The mint information is as follows:

Supply: 7000

Cost: 1 Sol

Time: 12 pm UTC (WL) | 3 pm UTC (Public)

So what’s special about them

Team: This is got to be the highlight of the project since they have an artist and a director who has worked on such big projects and now he is going to be one of the leads in the Miners of Mars.

Apart from Aleksa Gajic, they have Uros Petrovic who is again a renowned public speaker, a writer with over 450,000 books sold worldwide and a board game creator who is also being awarded as the “Knight of Serbia”.

Roadmap: The roadmap of Miners of Mars isn’t quite refreshing and that is one of the reasons why the team has claimed that they will adapt as they move forward in the space. However, some things need to be talked about.

  1. Miners of Mars Anthem: To unite the strengthen the community and give them a sense of belongingness with the project the team has created the longest anthem in the history of humankind. It has 7000 different unique stanzas and it will be distributed to the holders as an airdrop.
  2. Tokenomics: They will have a staking mechanism in place (which will come at a later stage) and the holders will be able to earn their governance token $GEM. The idea of staking is transitioned to mining. The longer you stake the NFTs the deeper you dwell in the mine, and the higher will be the chance of finding valuable gemstones.
  3. Future Collections: Once you earn the token GEM you will now have the option to mint the women of mars collection using $GEM and once you have both the collections in your wallet you can again use $GEM to mint the Kids of Mars collection. However, there will only be 3000 Kids of Mars. This doesn't stop here and once you have Kids of Mars NFT and $GEM you will be able to summon SemiGodz and there will only be 700 SemiGodz but this particular collection will not be released within this year.
  4. Eth Collection: The team has plans to release their project on the Ethereum blockchain as well after proving themselves in the Solana nft space and only the holders of NFTs will get a chance to mint the eth collection.
  5. Comic Books: There will be 7000 limited edition comic books signed by Aleksa Gajic which will be released to the holders free of cost.

Art: If I have to describe the art of the project in one word, I would say it is fresh and it is highlighting the “COMIC BOOK” vibes that the project is standing on.

Engagement: This is the second strongest point of the project. They have been able to get a good amount of traction in the space and are the top contender mint, based on a lot of polls that happened on Twitter. Also, they have been in various “upcoming mints to watch” lists of some sol influencers.

They have around 13,000 followers on Twitter and the engagement of the community members is great as well with them getting around 300 reactions per post.

Their Discord is even more strong than their Twitter. They have around 20,000 members in Discord and they are clocking an average of 500+ reactions per post.

Their founders are also really active on the discord with around 5,000 messages till date, which is a really good sign.

To conclude, I would say the project looks really good on paper with them having a dream team onboard and a great community which has shown how active it is time and again.

However, some things need to be addressed:

  1. This is not going to be the only mint that is happening on the 20th of April and they have some great competition in terms of Everseed which is also building for a very long time and have some great engagement as well. And with Miners of Mars having a supply of 7,000 NFTs they might face the demand getting divided.
  2. The staking mechanism will not be available post mint, and it might take some days or weeks. And as we know how restless the space gets when they don’t see the things mentioned in the roadmap happening miraculously fast.
  3. The art is really great and is of top-notch quality, but I don’t see myself putting it as my PFP (which again is a personal choice and everyone has different tastes), and the projects with non-pfp art have to work extra hard to make them recognisable in the space which we will get to know as the time passes.

I will give the project 3/5, don’t get me wrong, for me, the team is 4/5 but if I look at the art based on the PFP perspective and the utilities, there aren’t a lot of things to count. But in the end, it all depends on how strong the community the team has formed, and the fact that they are getting some great engagement and the founder is so active in the discord, it will get reflected in the secondary marketplace.

As always DYOR.
