You all can relate to the above-attached meme. As you know this has been a great week so far, with big projects like SkateX and Dahlys going for mint back to back. But don’t think it's over yet, the week has a lot more to give.
Solana NFT marketplace is maturing day after day with Magic Eden giving us different options to make our life in this space easier. Also, today we had the much-awaited Open Sea Listing of the Solana NFTs, a Big day indeed for all of us. With all these new things happening there is something that I found is missing, without which the space looks incomplete and that is a new “Ape” Project. If you have been in this space for more than 3 months you know what I am saying.
So in order to fill this incomplete objective, Cosmic Ape Crusaders are coming for mint tomorrow i.e., 7th April 2022.
So what’s special about them:
Cosmic Ape Crusader is not your everyday new Ape derivative project, it is a multi-year planned project with its main theme revolving around Lore and Gamefi Staking and there is a lot more to tell.
Before moving forward let me give you the basic information about the mint:

Now let’s talk about the project in detail:
Team: Now if the idea of the art is not very unique we have to see if the team behind the project is capable of making the project stand out in a crowd of ape-art NFTs. And the answer to that question is Yes. You may ask why? And the answer to that question is that the founder of Cosmic Ape Crusader is John (@JohnNFTDegen), John is one of the most reputed guys in the space who owns a bunch of great projects including 130 Taiyo Robotics, yeah one hundred and thirty Taiyo Robotics, and has been an old community member of the project. Because of this, the staking mechanism of the project is being developed under the guidance of our very own Solport Tom (@SolportTom) the guy who took Taiyo Robotics to those heights where they are now today.
Apart from John and Solport Tom, the team consists of members from a group named KEK Gang, who collectively owns a bunch of blue chips in the space and are active in the DAOs like Taiyo Robotics, Boryoku Dragonz, Mindfolk, Marker Kids, Flag Monkez, Monkey Baby Business, NFTrees, etc. One thing that is clear from this is that the team members are not newbies but rather the OGs of the space and they have big connections.
Art: The only question that arises in this field is what is new in the art that has never been seen before and to be honest I don’t see anything that can be called fresh. However, they have put in a lot of details in their art and it looks like top quality. I have received a bunch of mixed signals from the people I have talked about related to the art and this time will leave it upon you to decide for yourself.
Roadmap: There is not a fixed roadmap available about the project at the moment because the team believes in making updates and improvements to their project and the roadmap as they move ahead. The main thing about their current roadmap is staking and after the mint, the holders will be able to stake their NFTs and in return will get their own utility token $COSMIC.
What I find interesting about the staking mechanism is that the apes can be staked for a period of 7 days and after the completion of which they will be able to learn a random power and will gain a new trait in their metadata for the power.
If you get a power and you don’t like it you will be able to restake it for a period of 7 more days and you will get a new power. But this time you will have to spend some $COSMIC to re-do that process.
The yield of cosmic will depend on your ape’ power:
NO POWER: 5 $COSMIC
TERRAFORMER: 6 $COSMIC, rarity will be 40%
ENERGENESIS: 7 $COSMIC, rarity will be 40%
DIMENSION BREAKER: 8 $COSMIC, rarity will be 20%
They will add liquidity to the pool of $COSMIC for the holders to have the benefits of passive income, the details of which haven't been shared yet.
Engagement: This is one of the strongest points of the project. I follow a lot of big sol influencers and in the past weeks, I have seen Cosmic Ape Crusaders in all of their Upcoming Mints List and a lot of them have talked about them. They have around 10,000 followers on Twitter and they are clocking an average engagement of 300+ reactions, also they have been very active on their Twitter. They have also made a custom 1/1 for almost every other big Solana personality in the space. Their discord looks strong as well, they have all the big guys you know under the “Cosmic Stars” role and they have managed to build an active community with them getting an average of 350+ reactions per post.
To conclude, I think of them as one of the strongest plays of this month, the sole reason for that is the team. They have the Solport Tom building their staking mechanism, who is probably the best builder in this space. Apart from him, the owner, John is again one of the most well-known guys in the space with contacts in all of the big Solana Daos.
Keeping the team aside, they are also getting a lot of support from the Solana Community be it the OGs, the influencers, or people like you and me.
If I have to rate the project, I will rate it 3.5/5 because I want to see the big things that they have planned and they will introduce as time passes.
